Ball Rolling...

Ok, if i don't get started on here again soon then I'm going to be left with a load of research and no heart to sort through it and post it up.. so..

Back to Uni... i've missed it! Can't wait to get my teeth really sunk into the professional side of the projects lined up for this year but at the same time it scares me to death... mainly because we (all of us on the course) seem to lack any confidence in our own work...

- The 7x7 proejct will be slowly coming to a close this month with our illustrations near completion, the layout is happening as we speak and then we aim to send to print by the end of the month. (Details on the 7x7 event and the Manchester Literature Festival can be found HERE.)

- Negotiated Projects: I thought I had a good idea, that changed... I now have another idea.. but that is all it is.. an idea. I am planning on working around existing branding mascots and trying to say something about todays culture, the companies ethics or my own opinions in a satirical manner... without sounding too much like a hypocrite. This will coincide with a 5,000 word journal that I will be writing alongside the project, but as the project outline isn't quite there... the title of the journal isn't either.

- PDP: Now I cannot wait for this! I already have ideas floating around my head and a fair bit of research into areas of self promotion... my main priority at the moment is my negotiated project... so.. i'm hanging fire on the details of this for now...

Ron English...

Nowadays, everyone has heard of/seen some form anti-McDonalds campaign.. so much so that it is almost too easy to suggest that McDonalds food is unhealthy.. but through Juxtapoz magazine... I came across Ron English's 'Supersized Ronald McDonald'...

as well as these videos showing what he's know for, why he does it and how...

more later... but this is what I meant about being a hypocrite.. I have eaten at McDonalds.. I know its not the healthiest option but without researching into the companies food preparation methods or their ethics etc... I'm none the wiser and would probably continue eating there occassionally.
